I am so sorry about the pain. I know how disappointing it can be! But, like you say, it is too early to call it quits. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this issue will be resolved, and thatyou will be able to resume training. Sometimes, a simple massage or a few easy stretches can solve major pain. Do you do dynamic stretches before running/biking? I've found that they help tremendously.

Oh geez. Sorry this is happening. No fun at all. But you're right, it is early and you've got time to heal up. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Think positive and take care, you have plenty of time to adjust the original scheduled plan.
I know a doctor, a very good friend of mine who studied and applies a method to solve this kind of problems but, what a pity, he is here in Italy, far from you.
Have a look:

You are a very smart women who can work through whatever is thrown at you. This typically is like PF to cure. Keep positive! Even though IM training had a hick-up, I am still inspired and know you will be fine!

Sorry to read about your sciatica. I can relate first hand with what you are dealing with. I've been in on and off battle with it for 2 years. At times I can barely lay down than I have times like last week that I ran a 50 miler.

Depending on what is causing it the "cure" can take a while. For me its a bulged disc that will only get better slowly over time or through surgery. And since the idea of someone cutting into my back isn't that appealing I've chosen the slow approach.

I've found that an inversion table, ice, stretching and strength training have have helped out and am on my way to a recovery. I've also been told to take 6 months off but that isn't in the cards for me.

All the best!
