You are my hero! So few people focus on a goal and go for it AND even fewer appreciate the journey and are satisfied with their best effort! So excited for you!

HEY! 18 mph is not slow, girlie! You are doing GREAT. Tell those demons to shut up (but also keep them away from me!).

Hope to see you soon

Mind games and numbers. I remember when, in the stone-age, we didn't have the Garmin. I succeeded in calculating distance and pace, by my mind. Now everything is easier but .... scary becuase we need to keep a pace and to finish within a (self-established) time limit.
However I am sure you will do a good tri. Good luck.

You should cut all of your performances by 20%. That way when you are actually in the ironman, you'll feel like you are killing it!

But seriously, another reason I'll never tri. I feel over wired-up for running with just a heart monitor and a garmin. Having a bike and accessory equipment to worry about just isn't for me.

Keep on going - that butt pain will pass!

Isn't crazy how just seeing a number can mess with your head and make you "feel" like you are going slower? I used to be married to my garmin for running and kind of gave it up for a long period of time just to try to get out of that mentality and pay more attention to my perceived effort while running. I hope your hamstring cooperates and you can get to the Ironman!
