Definitely the hill training works. And I think you had plenty left in the tank and could have taken off at mile 11 but always a tough decision when to go like that - but with each race you build up that confidence. I had forgotten how many rolling hills there are on the course, but I agree - what pretty scenery and what a great day to be running! How sweet your son volunteered at the 1st water stop.
