Ooh, I have always wanted to go to Vancouver! It looks like such a gorgeous city. Hope your trip was absolutely fantastic!

And yes, getting lost can be kind of cool sometimes!

Hi:

I get asked that question all the time, as I run alone a lot. I also travel for work, so I run in cities unknown, places unknown, etc.

I have to say I have never, ever been afraid. Probably stupid, but I've never worried about it.

I usually ask someone at the hotel if it is okay to run or where I should/shouldn't go; I usually go on more traveled streets; paths, and I do carry my cell.

But honestly, ever since I was a kid, I've had no fear of walking the streets at night alone, or running any where on my own.

If I DIDN'T do this, I would have missed some really wonderful experiences!

As I was running at Lutsen I was thinking the same thing about not having an ID and no one really knowing where I was at.

Once in Canada I got lost trying to run across a park. It was a regional park, about 200 miles across. They called out the mounties to find me. Otherwise, I agree: it's fun to get lost.

It does sound very lovely out there. If I ever run anywhere that I am a little iffy about I just carry my trusty keychain tear gas. I would recommend that to anyone who is nervous running alone. And don't run in the dark by yourself if you can avoid it.

Beth, sounds like a wonderful place, vacation, and run. I think that you would be quite able to defend yourself! Plus, they'd have to catch you:)!!

I love Stanley Park. In fact, one of my favorite places to vacation is B.C. and go every few years. Glad you had a good time and found the gem.

welcome back! What a wonderful place to get 'lost.' Glad nothing happened, but i think it's good to be on your guard, even if/when 'nothing has ever happened.' Glad you had a great time! Did you come back saying 'eh' a lot more :D
