I was about to forward the Chad Austin article on me to a cousin I'd recently found. I read comments on it and one was yours, Beth. Now I read your great journey and it makes my ultras sound miniscule. More importantly I'm over 27 years sober, now age 71 and looking forward to the Snowshoe 10K Nationals on March 12 in Cable, WI. Also the USATF 100K Nationals on April 9th in Madison, Wi. Also the Human Race, Get-In-Gear and the FANS 24 Hour, my 21st on the first Sat. in June around Lake Nokomis. BUT your MCM!!!! I've done it and it is so humbling!!!! I have a story about a wounded Marine runner. I can share, but enough for now.

Thanks again for your comment.

I am so happy for your recovery. You are well on the road to healing. Sounds like you are so enjoying yourself - I would LOVE to be able to go to the gym daily and devote the time to core work. Sometimes not being able to do "something" allows us to focus on other things and in the end . . . it is all for the better.
I am so ready for warmer temp's. Last weeks warm temp's spoiled me. Think Spring!

I am very glad to read that you are on the road again. You are an inspiration, you never surrender: you always find something to do if you cannot run. Brava!

What a cheerful post! Now you've got me wondering if I should do core work more often than 2-3 days a week, too. Thanks for the idea!

This week has been just wonderful. I wore shorts outside for the first time this year! :)

Sounds like your gym time is really paying off, and it will most certainly benefit your half Ironman training. Awesome job, Beth! Keep up the great work!
